New vid - "You Found Me," Slumdog Millionaire

location: Millbrae
mood: awake
First, a few changes. My vidding site is no more; I'm in the process of moving my vids to another site and using LJ as my main vidding portal. Hopefully I will get around to it soon.
Second, I've been working on this vid since the beginning of the year, and finally have it finished. Vidding is getting more difficult these days. I find I'm unable to crank them out at the level I used to, both due to lack of inspiration, sheer laziness, and real life. However, I am proud of this offering, and hope y'all enjoy it too.

Fandom: Slumdog Millionaire
Song: "You Found Me," The Fray
Size and Format: 49.6 MB zip file, MOV format
Description: Basic movie overview

Hush episodic

I've been in a vidding funk all year, so I thought I'd go back to basics with a new vid, something simple, easy, and ridiculously unoriginal. Yes, it's yet another Hush episodic.
The biggest turn off to vidding, for me at least, is ripping clips. It bores me to tears ripping episodes from DVDs and then scrubbing through them to find suitable footage. I hate it with a passion, and is often the reason why vids don't get finished or don't get started. So this time I opted to do an episodic, and it turned out pretty successful, so I'm going to try to use it as a springboard for my other vid ideas. Hopefully 2009 will prove more fruitful.
Title: Hush
Song: Allegretto, by Bond
Summary: Hush, in less than 4 minutes.

It was debilitating to see last night's Prop 8 numbers come in. I was hoping that Californians would ride Obama's wave of hope and change and forward thinking and not pass this proposition. I've never been personally invested in anything political before, but this really cut deep. I cried, because I was so naive in thinking that people would see past all the religious rhetoric, all the political grandstanding, and look at it through a human perspective, that we are all equal, no matter what. This isn't supposed to happen in California. I can see Arkansas and Oklahoma, but not in a state that prides itself on its diversity and tolerance.
People say, "Why are you upset? You get the same rights as domestic partners. So what if isn't called marrige?" Okay, well, since that's the way you think, why don't you start building us separate water fountains while we wait for the state constitution to be redrafted? Not to mention, what's to stop the federal government from bringing up another federal amendment against gay marriages? Most states are opposed to it anyway, why not make it a national thing?
Gah.

Work Out: Week One

location: the bedroom
mood: accomplished
music: Dexter on tv
It feels great to be back in the workout routine. I got a heart monitor for my birthday this year, and it's a great way to monitor the calories I burn.
Sunday, 10/12: 27 min on the elliptical, 223 calories burned
Monday, 10/13: 20 min walking, 32 min on elliptical, 360 calories burned
Tuesday, 10/14: 20 min walking, 1 hr spin class, 883 calories burned
That's over 1000 calories, and it would probably be a little more impressive if I ate healthy last week. I've been stuck behind a desk all week due to a back injury, so I'm pretty much just making up the calories I usually lose when I'm working outdoors.

mood:
chipper
music: Yashanti, Yael Naim
For the past few months, I've been a slacker. The pressure of having to sell our house in this horrible market really messed with my routine, and consequently, I've gained the weight of a small child. I'm lazy and lethargic all the time, and I know that this is due to my lack of exercise and eating everything under the roof.

What to do, where to start?
Sep. 13th, 2008 | 12:44 pm
location: Hearst St, San Francisco
mood:
bored
music: my computer whirring
So I'm just killing off the last few minutes of my lunch break, and I'm wondering, how does one start a LJ? I haven't quite gotten the hang of it, still don't quite know what I'm doing, and how in the frilly heck do I make my LJ look all pretty like everyone elses? So I figure I'll just tackle it one post at a time, heh.
